Win 7 Audacity ver 3.0.4 vs XP Audacity 2.1.2

Win 7 Audacity ver 3.0.4 vs XP Audacity 2.1.2

With the Windows 7 Audacity ver. 3.0.4 I have to set the latency manually EVERY time I use it for a new project/tune.

With the Windows XP Audacity ver. 2.1.2 I NEVER have to set the latency at all. It automatically wroks perfecty with no audible latency.

I like some of the improvements on 3.0.4 but don’t have time to mess around setting the latency every time so I just run XP Audacity and do things much easier.

Is there a newer verion above win 7 Audacity 3.0.4 that automatically has no audible latency?

If not why can’t it be automatic like the XP earlier version of Audacity 2.1.2 ? Is there some reason for not making it automatic?

Windows 7 and XP are no longer supported. You are very welcome to use any version of Audacity that works for you, but there is no official support for Windows 7 or Windows XP.

The last version of Audacity for Windows XP was Audacity 2.1.3. It requires SP3 and SSE2 CPU.
