Win 11 / audacity-win-3.1.3-64bit.exe Install Problem

I’m trying to install Audacity for the first time. I downloaded from the Audacity site (wasn’t sure I was finding the right thing when I looked in the Windows App Store). When I try to install I get the attached popup. I click on “Install anyway” and nothing happens. Nor does anything happen if I click on “Change my app recommendation settings”. The other attachment shows the relevant Settings.

Thanks for any and all help, suggestions, sympathy, etc. Bob

The genuine Audacity is not (yet) in the Windows App store. From time to time, fake / false / ripoff versions appear in the Windows / Apple App stores, but I would highly recommend that you stay well away from those.

The correct download location is the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/
Is that where you got it from?

Yes. Thanks for replying.

Since my original post I have been able to download Adobe Reader DC from the Adobe site and install it. So, to me, looking a bit more like an Audacity problem and not a Windows 11 problem.

I have been able to get it installed but had to change this setting:

This is Win 11 21H2 Build 22000.376.
