I am digitizing tapes at 24-bit/96kHz for preservation, and attempting to make 16-bit/44.1kHz mezzanine derivative files. However, after resampling at 44100 and changing the format to 16-bit, exporting my audio, and dropping the file into BWF Meta Edit to embed an md5 checksum, the file is showing as 16-bit/96kHz. I have also attempted exporting as a WAV file, but I get the same results. Why is the resampled file reverting to 96kHz?
You currently need to set the project sample rate to your desired rate, not just the track. Next version will have a dropdown for sample rate right in the exporter.
That did it! Thank you. It seems like this function used to be in the bottom left corner of the main window, but now I have to go through Audio Setup - Audio Settings to change the project sample rate. I appreciate the help!
and just for reference, this is what it’ll look like in Audacity 3.4
