Hi everyone,
I’m completely new to Audacity and just tried recording my voice—but when I play it back, it sounds super weird and robotic, like I’m in a sci-fi movie! I didn’t change any settings on purpose (at least I think I didn’t 
). I’m using a basic USB mic and Windows 10.
Can someone explain to me like I’m 10 (ELI10) why this is happening and how to fix it?

Can you make absolutely sure that there are no other applications running in addition to Audacity?? No email, nothing.
Have you ever done a Clean Windows Shutdown. That’s where you make sure the machine wakes up clean after the shutdown.

When it comes back up, Only Run Audacity.

Make sure Windows “enhancements” are turned OFF. They can mess-up the sound in all kinds of weird ways.
