I haven’t changed anything and my recording got more quiet. How can I fix this? I don’t want to artifically make the recording louder, but it to return to its normal volume.
Windows updates can change volume level on mic.
I hesitate to say this to a new user, but updates can be even more complicated than that.
For instance, the sound driver has a Bass Boost setting, you enable it and it sounds better to you. Later on, an update clears this setting, or completely removes it, and it sounds quieter to you than it did before, but the data in the audio files hasn’t changed at all.
