When Recording only hear voice no music...voice is broken...the stereo graph only shows the voice

My name is Vaughn Vytlacil. Best buy just cleaned my computor…I have 3.7.7 Audacity. When I go to record, I only hear the voice of the Artist which is broken and hear no music…what do I do?

This can be a symptom of audio enhancements designed for speech, (which are on by default).

This usually happens in Audacity after a reinstall when the audio device settings get reset.

If it were just recording the wrong thing (for example recording the laptop mic instead of system audio) then I’d agree, but I don’t think that’s what Vaughan is saying. I’m inclined towards Trebor’s explanation as more likely.
