When I hit stop, it starts play from the beginning

is there a way to pause the track (listening to a wav file i eventually want to edit) and then play from that same place?

everytime i hit pause or stop, it starts playing from the beginning!

ugh i hate learning new software… thanks… and, sorry for having no clue and troubleshooting like an idiot…

Probably not. When you Spacebar Stop, it starts from the beginning, but then you P Pause, it stops dead and picks up right from there. Also anytime you click in the timeline, a new stop point is established. Click half-way down and Spacebar Stop will return to that point. I rarely use the P Pause key. I magnify and drag-select to play a segment.

To Pause then Resume playback press the “P” key or the || Pause button.

You cannot edit while paused.

To Stop and set the “play from position” to where you stop, press shift + A.

I’m having the same issue! Used to be able to pause it and it would restart where you pause it at. Now it restarts from the beginning. Something is wrong. And I don’t see any fix to it.

No worries at all, Jayme—we’ve all been there! Try using the spacebar to pause and resume playback instead of hitting stop. That usually continues from the same spot. You’ve got this—learning new software takes time, and asking questions is how we all get better.
