Years ago I posted here and–altho I’m not an idiot felt like one because the responses I got were too techy for me to understand, so I hope I am better able to explain myself this time or people are maybe a bit more patient! Thanks in advance.
I’m simply trying to record directly from my new Rodecaster Pro to my laptop, specifically into Audacity, which I have used for many years (mainly just recording things FROM my computer very primitively). I tried to figure out the settings and apparently it’s all wrong because I get this error “error opening recording device error code 9997 invalid sample rate.”
Specifically, me, as one person, recording me speaking into my mic (all levels are great on the Rodemaster side) so it records to Audacity on my laptop rather than to an SD card in Rodecaster.
To save time, I don’t need to know what the error means, 𝗜 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼. Thank you SO much!
So I’m sorry that you apparently found my earlier reply unhelpful. I did a quick internet search and found this tutorial which may answer all of your questions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzJ2VyYkmaA
Other than that, perhaps someone else would like to help you with your settings.
Thanks for your thoughts and the effort put into a Google search for an “Audacity 101” YouTube tutorial.
As mentioned, I’ve used Audacity for years. What I need is quite specific – rather than a “getting started” vid.
I just need to know–and I’d be surprised if not one person affiliated with Audacity has this knowledge–𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 in 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼
