If you have an Audacity project that cannot be opened, or where Audacity throws an error or crashes upon opening it, please attach your project file to this issue so we can investigate it. It’s also sometimes possible to recover some data from corrupted projects.
Needless to say, preventing data corruption is a high priority for us, and anything we manage to identify and fix will be addressed in an upcoming patch release.
Is this just for Audacity 4 or is 3 included too?
Both Audacity 3 and 4. Some of these issues may exist in both versions.
I request you to please look into this urgently and recover the data from this file.

My project got corrupted. I tried updating to 4.0.1, and checking file permissions. Here is the file:

Okay thanks but I’m worried because I am able to open the file, it’s just all gone and erased now
