I have v3.7.7 installed on a newer W11 machine and haven’t had trouble up until now, but when I try to record with my system the cursor no longer moves and no recording happens. My audio device is provided by the NVIDIA driver and my output device is my monitor. I am wondering if the latest NVIDIA driver has caused a problem with WASAPI mode somehow and I need to roll it back? On an older PC which has Realtek speakers, I have no issue with recording. I know I was able to record using WASAPI on this PC a few months ago and the only thing I can think that might have changed is the NVIDIA driver. I also tried a clean install for Audacity but it did not help.
WASAPI will not begin recording unless there is sound to record.
I updated the NVIDIA driver to the very latest one and it seemed to fix the issue. There should have been an active audio stream at all times when I was attempting to record so I have no idea why the recording would not start before. But all is well now, thanks.
