Want to convert dvd concert to audio/cd

Hello,

I just purchased the software and it just arrived in the mail. I bought this program for one reason : to convert a dvd concert onto audio cd.
I remember I did this once before, 12 yrs ago when I was in college and had time to mess around with the computer! Unfortunately, I don’t remember how I did it, nor the kind of software I used!! I decided on this software based on online suggestions.

Here is what I have:

I have a concert that I have transferred onto dvd. I currently have the dvd in the laptop and Audacity installed and open. If I’m not mistaken, the dvd songs must be converted to mp3…how is this done?

The dvd is separated into the following: Audio_TS and VIDEO_TS
The Audio_TS file, when opened, has nothing to click on.
Whereas, the Video_TS has 11 files as the following: Video_TS, Video_TS.IFO, Video_TS.VOB, VTS_01_0, VTS_01_0.IFO, VTS_01_0.VOB, - VTS_01.VOB5 (meaning 1 - 5)

I hope this is helpful to anyone who understands! How can i use Audacity to convert these files to mp3 for audio?? Anyone, please be as specific as you can that I may understand…thank you so much!!

Here’s a relevant forum thread … https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/rip-audio-from-dvd/30760/4

I Hope you’re not talking about Audacity because Audacity is FREE.

There is another free program called DVDshrink. It has a couple of other uses besides “shrinking” (re-compressing) the video. It can make one-big VOB file so you can more-easily make a concert-length audio file, or split it into separate songs.

Hmm, free…did not know that! I bought it on Amazon for $10.87!

I didn’t try the first person’s advice - I’ll work on doing that today. I don’t know why this seems so much more difficult than I had thought. It seems I have to relearn everything again.

I’ll look into DVDshrink as well. I am always nervous about downloading anything “free.”
