Vocal track delays and fading issues

Need your help with voice recording:
Am using Focusrite Scarlette 2i2 interface with Audacity 2.1.2. Microphone I’ve connected is Rode NT1A. Am trying to record my voice over a karaoke track by connecting headphones to the audio interface to listen to the karaoke. When I playback my recorded voice along with karaoke, I see lot of delays in vocal track and it’s very much out of tempo (I made sure I sang with tempo as per karaoke). Also I notice that voice fades out at beginning and ending of each line I recorded. I tried various settings of Recording and Playback but none seem to help much. My operating system is windows 7.
Please help how I can overcome these issues. Highly appreciate your help !!

Regards,
Ravi

The fading is probably due to Windows “enhancement” which needs to be switched-off if you are singing, see …

You need to measure the delay (aka latency) … http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/latency_test.html
Then input the delay time in Audacity preferences, here …

Thank you…I have already checked Latency and addressed it. It seems to be starting OK, but later slows down and goes out of sync along with voice fading. I will check enhancement options…thanks for responding

If it’s progressively going out of sync that can be due to Audacity missing tiny pieces of you singing
aka “skips” … http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#How_can_I_record_without_small_skips_or_duplications.3F
