Hey everyone, I recently installed version 2.0.5 of audacity for windows (I have windows Vista Home Premium OEMct) and I was trying to remove the vocals from a song but every time I tried the music would go all weird but the vocal part would still be there. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong but I tried Effect > Vocal Remover and I read what it says on the website about removing vocals from tracks but i cant’ figure out what I’m doing wrong. Please someone help!!! 
If the vocals are not in the centre or have stereo reverb added then you cannot remove them with Vocal Remover.
Try a vocal remover plug-in that works on on other than centre removal ( http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Vocal_Removal_Plug-ins ) or buy a karaoke version of the song on the internet.
