I was looking to remove some vocals from a song for my daughter and didnt realize at the time that I could have done this through Audacity! As I was searching the web, I found a site that sells Vocal Remover 2.0. LIke a dummy I bought it and found out that it was just Audacity they were selling! Is that legal? Here is the wesite they gave me to down load my software. Remover-Downloads.com/download/9314207/setup.exe

Oh yes. Anybody can sell Audacity by customizing it (Improving it) and putting it on the market. There are certain licensing demands – like credits and logos, etc, but past that, you’re good to go. It’s part of our GPL license.

Sadly there are quite a few #@*#! extorting money for all sorts of things.
Selling Audacity is not in itself illegal, in fact it is explicitly allowed under the terms of the GPL license agreement, provided that the terms of the license are adhered to. You’ll find details of the Audacity license here: http://audacityteam.org/about/license
If you feel that the “company” misrepresented the “product” and you paid via PayPal, then you could lodge a complaint with PayPal.
