Vertical Zooming in Waveform view

Dear community,

Here is my problem: we are doing vibration analysis from .wav files. I had frequently used the software to record audio tracks and I searched the help area in vain, however we still cannot correctly adjust the vertical scale. The area of interest is between -0.40 and -0.35; when we zoom it is impossible to visualize because the range drops to -0.25 as shown in the screenshots… We need to analyze the amplitude and shape of the signal.

Does anyone know a solution or are the display options too basic and therefore impossible?

Wish everyone a great day and thank you in advance for your help…

Kind regards,

Mathias

E.g. from gaz turbine sample of spectral vibration…

Probably the best solution would be to use an older version of Audacity from before the removal of “Advanced Vertical Zoom”.

I think it’s unlikely that Advanced Vertical Zoom will be reinstated. I argued for it to be retained at the time, but Muse Group said no.

Hi Steve, thank you so much ! it felt odd to me and I wanted to understand what had changed because, in my recollection, it was possible back then. It had been a long time since I’d used the software, and now it makes sense… so we can analyse like before and understand what happened between, an intellectual satisfaction  Have a great day and thank you once more!

If you got rid of the DC offset then you can zoom in more.
