I use Asio i04 as an analogue to digital converter. It has 4 possible inputs and 4 outputs. Can I record 4 inputs onto 4 tracks at the same time? USing Windows 10 and the newest version of Audacity.
Thanks

Do you mean an “Alesis iO4”?
The number of available channels for recording will depend on the device drivers. Audacity does not ship with support for ASIO due to licensing restrictions, so it will depend on whether the device has multi-channel Windows drivers (either WDM or WASAPI).
I don’t have an iO4 so I can’t tell you the answer. As you already have an iO4, the best thing is to try it.
Let us know how you get on.
If you can’t get 4 channel recording in Audacity, you could always do the recording in Cubase LE and use Audacity for editing (Export from Cubase as WAV files, and import the WAV files into Audacity.)
Yes - it is Alesis.
Audacity can see the i04 but I can only see how to add one recording channel (mono). I do not see a way of adding 4 tracks at one time. I am new to this but any help would be gratefully received.
Many thanks
Look in the Windows Sound Control Panel at the recording settings for the device. I’d expect that it would support at least 2 channels (hopefully all 4).
Thanks will try that.
