Hi,
I am using Audacity 2.4.1 on windows 10 Home edition.
I want to import or use a Karaoke video track which has the scrolling lyrics synchronized with the audio track.
Need help how to do this in Audacity.
I can only see import Audio (MP3) and there is a Karaoke option under the “View” menu but it is greyed out. Not sure if it will help me play a Karaoke video with audio music track
Regards,
Nilesh
I have already imported the FFMPEG libraries so I can import mp4 files but Audacity shows only the audio track from MP4 and does not show the video with scrolling lyrics…
Need help…

Nilesh
Audacity is an audio editor. No video.
View → Karaoke uses Audacity Labels, which are of limited usefulness outside of Audacity.
You’ll probably need special Karaoke editing/creation software depending on the actual format and depending on what you want to do.
For example, you can extract the audio from a “normal” audio/video file and edit the audio with Audacity but then you have to use a video editor to replace the audio in the A/V file. When you do that you have to be careful not to make any edits that change the timing because that would throw the audio & video out-of-sync. Many video editors have some audio editing ability so with a video editor you may not need Audacity at all.
