Greetings: I installed Audacity 2.0.2 yesterday, I tried to do everything that I was told to do in the manual which came with my new Turntable/CD/Cassette machine, but I was unable to select the DEVICE for INPUT as USB Audio Controller - it did not show up as an option. The book told me that if I did not see that option, to shut down Audacity, re-open it, and it should then show up. But it did not. What do I need to do to get this option to show up so I can select it??? Thanks, Big O
Audacity only checks for things to connect to when it starts. There’s way to force it later, but restarting is simple.
Close Audacity. Go into Windows Control Panels > Audio and see if your music player is listed there. If not, then there may be a problem with the player. Windows is pretty good about recognizing a new USB device and volunteering to manage it.
Did it? Did Windows Ding once and announce it had found a new USB device? If not, then it maybe it didn’t arrive. Try different USB ports on your computer and we warn everyone not to connect through a USB hub.
Did you keep your receipts?
