URGENT: macOS .aup3 recovery needed — project crashed while “compressing project” on close

I have an untouched original .aup3 project, 4.83 GB. It opened successfully about 20 minutes before the crash. Audacity 3.7.7 crashed when I clicked Exit during “compressing project.” I have now installed Audacity 3.7.8 and it still shows the same error. Please advise

The original passes PRAGMA integrity_check (ok) but Audacity fails on load with:
File_Error: Audacity failed to read from a file
sqlite3.rc: 101
SqliteSampleBlock::Load::step

I have preserved the original and will only provide a duplicate. I need help using the appropriate recovery tooling to recover the session or tracks. Please advise how to retrieve my project I worked several months on. I need this recovered ASAP. Much Appreciated!

Have you worked through this? - Recovering corrupted projects

Are you willing to share your broken project file?

Thank you very much for your prompt response. I have tried that link and even ChatGPT for extra assistance, to no avail. Yes, I’m willing to share a copy of the project for it to be fixed

I followed the recovery guidance as far as I could on my Intel Mac. My original project is 4.83 GB and remains preserved. It crashed while Audacity was “compressing project” on exit. The original passes SQLite PRAGMA integrity_check (ok), but Audacity fails on load with:

sqlite3.rc: 101
SqliteSampleBlock::Load::step
Audacity failed to read from a file

I downloaded the macOS Project Tools release, but it returns Bad CPU type in executable on my Intel Mac (uname -m= x86_64), so I could not run the recovery tool locally.

Please let me know the preferred private way to share the copy. I can upload the project for it to be fixed. It has very detailed edits before publishing, I do not want to risk it being leaked/shared. In the context of saving my project, your time and assistance are very much appreciated.

If you don’t want to post a link, I understand. So, either upload the file to Google Drive if you have an account and email the link OR use the service provided by SwissTransfer.com. It’s free, secure and reliable, in my experience. I will send you a private message with my email address. Being a new user, you might not be able to send private messages yet, so you will have to use email.
