upgrading lame 3.99.3 to 3.99.5

hello again

I have a question, I just formatted computer because it was really slow. So now I have audacity running with lame library 3.99.3 I have decided to update it to 3.99.5 so I downloaded the lame_enc.dll file. However, when I go to audacity and try to link to the new dll version it still shows that it is 3.99.3 Any suggestions?

I have decided to update it to 3.99.5

Why?

Here is the LAME change log. I don’t see anything that would affect the way LAME works with Audacity.

Integration of the Lame library with Audacity requires that the library has specific hooks and symbols compiled into the build. The version of Lame that is recommended in the manual (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#lame) meets these requirements. Other builds or versions of Lame may not meet these requirements, in which case they cannot be integrated into Audacity. However, they may still be used with Audacity if you use the “external program” option in the “Export Audio” dialog (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/export_formats_supported_by_audacity.html#external)

There is now a 3.99.5 lame_enc.dll that should work with Audacity available as a ZIP file at http://lame.buanzo.org/#lamewindl.

It is exactly the same file as the 32-bit 3.99.5 libmp3lame.dll listed at http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lame-libraries.php, but renamed to lame_enc.dll.
