Hello! And help!! I updated Audacity and now I am getting an error message that says when I try to open my previous recordings:
“This project was created with a newer version of Audacity. You will need to upgrade to open it.”
I’ve tried everything to figure out how to upgrade but I haven’t. I am fairly new to Audacity. I also cannot open any of my audacity files now and I am stuck.

How about going to the Audacity website and download the newest version? Changing version during “production” is never a good idea.
Thanks. I tried this. Unfortunately my computer crashed so I had to start over.
With or without success? Maybe you can remember what version of Audacity you used to create your project. There is a link on the website which directs you to older version downloads. At least the same version should be able to open a project.
Fortunately my daughter loaned me her backup laptop which has Audacity on it. I was able to re-create most of my recordings and since we are snowed in for the foreseeable future I have plenty of time to meet my deadline on Friday.
I am meeting with one of the tech people online tomorrow from my voice over program, I’ll post what the results are in case anyone ever has this same problem.
