There is only the right track being recorded using audacity. We want to record in stereo. The music plays in stereo but Audacity is only recording minimal sound in the left track so it sounds like Playback only plays right track. When we switched to record in MONO the only sound recorded was left track, which is very quiet. We have uninstalled and reinstalled audacity, at which point we upgraded to version 2.1.1, however the problem still persists. We know it is not the mixing board as we replaced the mixing board recently to try to fix this problem. I have searched the forums before registering, found similar questions but found no solution that works for us. Thank you for your help.

Are you using the “WASAPI loopback” method as described here? Audacity Manual

I just tried that method, but to no avail. There was not the option to loop. I do have three different input devices because besides doing his live show with a pro mike, my blind boyfriend uses a screen reader and dragon program in which he uses a usb headset with mike onboard. I have tried the three inputs, mme, directsound and the wasapi several times now. Thank you.

I lied, I just checked it out for the fifth time at least, and found the loop you mentioned and now it is recording perfectly! Thank you! YOU made me a hero in the eyes of my blind boyfriend. We have been hassling over this for months. Thank you!

Glad you got it working
