Hi everyone,
I’m having trouble linking Audacity to my audio.com cloud account and would really appreciate some help.
Context:
• macOS (MacBook Pro)
• Latest version of Audacity (25th anniversary release)
• audio.com account works perfectly in the browser (I can log in, see projects, play files)
• Issue only occurs when trying to link inside Audacity
What’s happening:
• When I try to sign in to audio.com from Audacity, I repeatedly get an “email or password incorrect” error, even though the same credentials work in the browser.
• When using the “Sign in and get the token” link, the browser opens but does not complete the authorization flow (blank page / no token shown).
• I noticed Safari was blocking pop-ups initially; I’ve since allowed pop-ups, but the linking still doesn’t complete.
• I can’t see an option to generate or copy a token manually (I only see Linux-specific token instructions).
What I’ve tried:
• Reset audio.com password
• Checked pop-up permissions and content blockers in Safari
• Restarted Audacity and browser
• Logged in and out of audio.com in the browser
Question:
• Is this a known issue with Safari or macOS?
• Should I be using Chrome/Firefox for the auth flow?
• Is there another way to manually generate a token on macOS?
• Or is this a known bug with the current Audacity release?
Thanks so much in advance — I rely on cloud projects for templates and intros, so any guidance would be hugely appreciated.
