I am using Audacity 2.0.3 and Lame and my Lenovo computer uses Windows 7 x64 SP1.
I have created audio files with Audacity from cassettes and am now trying to export them as MP3. However when I do so the audio files created say, “file” and not “MP3” as the extension.
I have deleted all Lame and Audacity programs and started over but this does not help.
This is a public forum. Although forum staff regularly post replies to questions, it is open (and encouraged) for all Audacity users to help each other
Avoid using full stops (dot / period) in file names. It is generally advised to use only normal numbers and letters in file names (space, hyphen and underscore are also allowed on most computers).
Thank you very very very much. I don’t know how you knew this was the problem, but you were exactly right. Thank you. I have been trying to figure this out for the last 6 hours!
