I’ve bought a new Audio-Technica deck to digitise my vinyl records. The deck is connected to my PC using its USB lead. My PC is Windows 10 and I have Audacity 3.6.3 loaded.
Every time I press “Record”, this 9999 error appears.
I have altered settings but nothing different happens.
I have switched the USB lead to USB 2 and USB3 ports. No difference.
My PC is recognising the deck as “USB Audio Codec”
What am I doing wrong ?
Can anyone help please ?
Thank you.
Probably not super-helpful but:
Try all 3 hosts (MME, Direct Sound, WASAPI).
Try Listen To This Device to make sure Windows is getting a signal. It should work without Audacity (or any other application).
Hi DVDdoug,
Definitely “super-helpful” !
Your privacy settings suggestion was the answer. A recent MS update had turned the microphone access to Off.
I have just made my first successful digitised recording from my new record deck.
Thank you very much.
