I get very long recordings for audio-book narration, and the truncate silence tool in Audacity 3 is instrumental in saving me time making sure the pauses between sentences is consistent. I’ve tried using it in Audacity 4 but I cannot get it to work. When I go to Effect>Truncate Silence, a box pops up with the title ‘Truncate Silence’ but the box is completely empty. The Preview and Apply buttons are greyed out, and the only button I can click is Cancel.
I’ve tried it on my laptop and desktop and both have the same issue. Both are Windows.
My current workaround is to just export the audio, open Audacity 3, Truncate Silence, export, open again in Audacity 4. I’ve searched around for a fix or to see if other people are having this issue, but I’ve found nothing that has solved my issue.
