Troubleshooting headset feedback cutout

Hi! So I just downloaded Audacity, I’ve used it in the past but never on a Mac, and for whatever reason now my headset feedback for my mic won’t come through once I’ve assigned the correct input and output. To clarify, I’m a podcaster and I have a microphone, with a headset plugin that gives me real-time feedback through a pair of studio monitors. The issue is that the studio monitors are always working, until I assign the input as my actual mic, not my laptop mic. Immediately, the monitor feedback cuts out.
I’m on MacOS Sonoma 14.5

If anyone can help with this I would be much obliged. Thanks.

Found the issue!! To solve, go here - Old Audacity versions download
and download Audacity 3.1.3

Monitor feedback started working immediately. Not sure what the issue was with newer Audacity versions but 3.1.3 works awesome.
