Has anyone been able to successfully install Audacity 3.7 on an M3 iMac (Sonoma)? I cannot get it to work. I’ve also installed Blackhole (both 2ch and 16ch). I’ve watched several YouTube videos describing how to setup a midi device and what settings I should use in my iMac ‘Sound Settings’. No matter what I try, I keep getting a flatline in Audacity when I push the record button. I think my installs are correct because Audacity recognizes Blackhole and the multi-channel output device I created in the midi settings. Thanks for any help.
I did not yet install 3.7, only 3.6.1 on macOS 15.3 .1 Sequoia.
But contrary to the “headline” (which says you have trouble to install), you had installed it and it does not work as you expected it to do.
If you install Blackhole, you probably want to record sound coming over the internet. But then, you talk about a midi device?
Could you clarify what you want to do and what your setting is?
In any case you definitely need to check permissions for Audacity in your system settings: Privacy and Security. Audacity needs access to “Microphone” to be able to hear anything.
