Trouble downloading ACX Check

My mac runs High Sierra 10.12.6 and I have Audacity 2.3.3

When I download ACX Check Plugin from the Audacity page, it downloads at the bottom of the browser like it should. Then, when I click on it, the Open Any File App opens and all that it shows is a grayish screen with a white piece of paper folded slightly at the top right corner. When I try to access it through the Finder window, the same thing happens. Other people who have had problems downloading it say that all that comes up is text but Im not even getting that. I’ve tried dragging it everywhere I can think of and nothing recognizes it. What am I missing?

Instructions on how to install Nyquist plug-in are here.

High Sierra is 10.13.

If you’re reading for audiobooks, there’s another handy download called RMS Normalize.

Scan down.

Another note. ACX Check shows up under Analyze, not Effect.

Much help. Thanks.

I found the download link for the ACX check plug in but when I open the download I get a pop up message stating “there is no application set to open the document ACX-Check.ny”. I tried going to the audacity file but can’t find an application there that works to get the download to open.

Next, I tried going to the add/remove under tools, clicked on the Nyquist plug ins and nothing happens.

Next, I tried clicking on the nyquist plug ins installer under tools and got this error message - "not found or cannot be read:/users/home/desktop/untitled.

This seems harder than it should be. What do I need to do? I am running Mojave 10.14.6

Tx

Hi Steve -
I did follow the instructions given when following the directions given in the first response in the string - as I explained in my message - and I get the error message that I described - "Next, I tried clicking on the nyquist plug ins installer under tools and got this error message - “not found or cannot be read:/users/home/desktop/untitled” . --Devon

The instructions here are correct: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/installing_effect_generator_and_analyzer_plug_ins_on_mac_os_x.html#nyquist_install
You just need to do exactly what they say.

“there is no application set to open the document ACX-Check.ny”

That’s normal. It’s just a regular text file with a .ny file name extension. If Audacity finds it in the right place and you enable it, it should show-up in the Analyze menu.
