track ID always populated with old info on export

Mac 11.6.8 on a MacBookAir
Audacity 2.4.2

For some time when I go to export a wav or an mp3 the track info is already filled out with info from years and years ago, and I have to clear this every time. I wonder if there’s a preference I can throw away, or something I can trash to get rid of this.

Click on Edit (menu) > Metadata. Clear all the fields. Click the “Set Default” button. Click “OK”.
