Not being a programmer i can only describe what i did:
A while ago i did set up an AdHoc-Network, and since i needed a secure connection, it took a while to find the solution. It added a new entry to the list of network-services under Network in Systempreferences.
After deleting this AdHoc-Network, accepting the changes and a restart, Audacity was back to live.
May be it could help to change the Error Message to something more specific, asking to check for colliding network services, or even offering to run the program without the IPC if anyhow possible ?
Going back to the google results while tracking the problem:
it’s not Ressources, many posts found with google assumed disk space or RAM was missing,
it’s not fixed ip entries in /etc/hosts file, my AdHoc did not appear there,
it’s not installation procedures, double installations, updates etc
And may be it’s way to rare to ask for much care …
