The first few seconds of highlighted audio are not playing

Hello, anytime I play audio, the first few seconds there is no sound, even though the Playback Meter is showing that sound is coming out.

So I can’t accurately clip and delete/move sections of my audio file, since I can’t hear the first few sections.

I’ve used audacity for years without this issue. I deleted the old Audacity and downloaded the new, with the same issue. Please help! Thanks, Chris

You likely have your speakers or headphones plugged into a USB port or audio port on your monitor. Windows 11 puts this connection to sleep quickly when it is not in use, thus you will experience a fade in as you wake up the connection by playing the audio. Instead, plug your speakers or headphones directly into the PC.
