Tascam US-428 W/ Audacity?

Hello, I recently bought a Tascam US-428, however it did not come with the disk, so I wanted to try and use it with Audacity. Does anyone know if the Tascam US-428 is compatible with Audacity, and if it is, how would I use it with Audacity.

Any help would be appreciated! Also, I’m new at this, so please bear with me.

How do you connect it to your computer? USB?

Connect it, then run Audacity, go to Preferences → Devices and select your USB device as the recording device.

If you connect through audio cable to the line-in interface of your sound card, then select line-in as the recording device.

Yes, it’s USB. So once my device is installed in my computer, it will appear in the list of Devices? Thanks!!

It should… But it depends a lot on the driver…

By the way, what operating system do you use? Windows? MacOS-X? Linux? Other?

Well so far the US-428 has been working fine with Audacity, thanks for your help! I have Windows Vista.

By the way, is it possible to record more than one track at a time with audacity? If so, how does one do it?
