Hello, I have a tape that dates back to 1978-1979 so it is really old. It is a home recording and has a LOT of background noise just a constant hum. also the voice in the recording is very quiet behind that noise. I tried noise reduction which helps with the noise but it is just too quiet. Any help would be much appreciated.
There’s a fuzzy rule. If you can’t understand the words now, post production processing isn’t going to help.
There is a hum remover tool that I can’t find right this second. The special purpose tools tend to be more surgical and precise than the broader generic noise removers. Are you in a 50Hz country or 60Hz? US is 60Hz.
As we go.
