Hi, I am using Audacity 3.7.8. Sometimes I use my bluetooth headphones and sometimes I use the internal speakers. Sometimes I go from one to the other. If I turn off the headphones, the Audacity only notices a problem and wants to report it. It doesn’t go automatically to the internal speakers. If I manually change the settings at playback device to the MacBook Pro loudspeakers .Audacity still doesn’t register it. The workaround is that I quit the program a(Command Q) and then restart it . then the playback plays through the device I chose before I quit the program.
PS the same thing happens (and the same workaround) if I am using the speakers and then want to change to the Bluetooth headphones.
Click on the Audio Setup button and choose “Rescan Audio Devices”, then try switching. Does that help?
yes, that was the button was looking for. The button said “audio setup.” I was using the "command , " to access the audio set-up on my mac. I hadn’t noticed that audio setup button in the middle of my screen yet. On that button “audio set up” I just can choose “playback device” in de drop down list to choose which I wanted. AI just tested it: I can use the "rescan audio devices " in the same drop down list if I hadn’t been using the bluetooth earphones before starting the program.
Thanks!
