I’m a simple user, but have a suggestion for a fast-key (or keyboard shortcut!) I’d like a fast-key that brings up the last menu window.
For instance, I’m doing a lot of cassette captures and using the noise reduction tool a lot. After locating a short section of background noise in the track, I bring up the noise reduction menu (a 2-step pulldown process) and select “get noise profile” in that menu window. The menu drops and I have to bring it up again. [A fasy-key right here] would be nice. But before bringing it up again, I select a little larger section of track that’s on the screen to apply this noise profile as a test. So I have to go through that 2-step pulldown process again to get to that menu window again. [A fast-key right here] would be nice. And a fuller example of this is - then after testing that short test section and deciding it’s good, then I do a cmd-Z to undo the change to that short section, a cmd-A to select the whole track, and now [a fast key right here] to bring the menu up again to apply it to the whole track this time. That one fast-key would save a lot of pulldowns.
I’m not using a whole lot of other features yet, but I would guess this fast-key to bring up the last menu would have a lot broader use too? I scanned through the fast-key summay page and didn’t see anything already there for this.
Also, on that sequence of applying the test to a short section of track, then undoing it, selecting the whole track, and now applying to the whole trsack - cmd-Z cmd-A [new fast key here] - it’d be nice if that new fast-key sequence was in that same area of the keyboard! Since the cmd, Q, and the A are all right there!
