For completeness, it might be nice if you included a non-inverted version. Also, perhaps tidy those empty lines near the bottom and indent the tags with tabs like the EQDefaultCurves.xml file? (Ooh I’m so fussy :smiley: )

I felt it is time to pass the torch along once again. I went through and compiled a large majority of the xml’s posted here. There are going to be a few missing that I wasn’t particularly interested in and that were not already in txt or xml format. What you will find is a vast selection of the remainder, geared towards people like myself who enjoy editing and creating better music as amateurs. I have probably around 10 mostly original presets that I came up with mostly editing hip hop instrumentals, especially in regards to piano and melodic beats. these are typically labed lazily along the longs of what they do, IE: “hilo” and offshoots are aimed at bring out highs and lows – the softener and balancer series are very similar but to a much finer degree, made to balance or soften the track, the balancers are actially superior to the softeners for when a song is already nearly maxed volume wise which is kinda backwards, meh, lazy me. Piano enhancers are meant for enhancing specifically low and high range piano. The common theme in my works are to bring out more instrumentation, and I use them most typically in the hip hop and reggae genres.

**Also, very highly notable IMO, is the “Eargasm explosion” setting, as well as the ~half strength "eargasm tweaked"setting which I created specifically for use in editing with audacity, as the parent setting only works without prior editing on very low volume recordings. The original set of values has become my goto filter for anywhere that will allow me to customize to the 10 frequencies, despite the highly subjective nature of EQing, and my (id imagine anyways) fairly rigorous desire to bring out greater instrumentation in most of what I listen to, I find I enjoy this setting well enough that I have stopped second guessing why.
I cannot claim credit this setting, funnily enough, I just happened across it by luck one day, (on a meme of all things!) suggesting this exact 10 frequency setup, and I’ll be damned if it hasn’t consistently been my go to across apps that allow me to customize the frequencies, it works very well at bringing out instrumentation of tracks, at (perhaps) a mild sacrifice to vocals. I have not been successful at capturing it’s glory with larger band ranges, and have spent several hours attempting to do on software which does not allow the customization.

TL/DR folks if you came by this thread looking for a large selection as i did – is it now available for 2019, right here (rename xml attachment in my post to EQCurves.xml, deposit into the "…/user/appdata/roaming/audacity folder ( it’s root folder on my windows 10 pc), and they should all be available. Thanks very much everyone else for the previous large body of works and effort – i greatly look forward to exploring and seeing how well they suit me and what i perhaps have been missing all this time!

My thanks as well, to the developers of audacity, I very recently learned how to sample and properly look with audacity after years of aimlessly guessing, that combined with the already years of using the program for remastering combined quite well with this and has allowed me to begin creating music that I enjoy listening too, and the creating itself has also has become one of my favorite past times. Bravo on this longstanding and truly free editor! I will check back periodically to answer if anyone has questions/fix if needed.

How exactly do you get these EQ settings into Audacity I replaced the default file but when I go back into audacity it is just the default settings still

This is a very old topic (the first post was Fri Jun 18, 2010).

The Audacity Equalization effect was retired after Audacity 2.3.2. The current Audacity 2.3.3 has two new effects, Graphic Eq and Filter Curve.

The presets in this topic are not compatible with the new effects. However, the next Audacity release (scheduled for early May) includes a conversion tool that can convert the curves mentioned in this topic to the new format.

In short, you cannot currently use these EQ settings, but next month you will be able to get the new version of Audacity, and use the supplied converter to use these curves in the new effects. Instructions are included in the new manual.

I am using Mac, OS Monterey 12.4, and when I use the converting to text tool and send it to the Filter Curve Effect, I don’t see it there. Have I overlooked a step? Thank you.

The imported curve IS NOT added to the list of presets. The imported curve immediately becomes the current, (unsaved) EQ setting. If you want to save it as a preset you must do that after importing the curve.
