While asking about recordings too high for the human ear to here, I noticed something about subliminal recordings.
I was interested in SR some years ago and stumbled across a very good way to make self help recordings and believe me they work.
What I did was to get a tape recorder (not just a player) and I found a quiet place to record my ideas and I played them back while going off to sleep.
These days use an iphone.
For instance, if your overweight or smoke and want help with it the recording may go like this;
“Hi, its me, your worried about your weight and finally got around to do something about it, good. your too fat!”
If you listen to this at night you may get annoyed by the ‘Hi, its me’ intro, edit it out. Here you may need a good sound editing program
Of course the dialogue is going to be a bit ordinary, so add some more to it,
…a blank one minute long section…"Hi, your worried about your weight and finally got around to do something about it. Have you noticed how much time you spend preparing meals and the washing up you generate, there’s enough washing up there for an army! This shows how much time and energy you put into eating, little wonder your fat!
Still room for improvement I suggest. Try again.

As you listen to your voice it gets comforting and the dialogue will get better and more to the point. You may remember/realise like I have, someone in my family has passed on their own eating habits to us. You may get all the way to reading labels when shopping and never buy anything with high sugar content. A very important thing is to study the language use in the above suggestions, they may be procrastinatory, if there is such a word. you could say ‘You need to loose weight’ forever and if its a counterproductive way to speak, the suggestions will never work. But I think as the recordings improve, this will right itself with better worded suggestions coming to mind. ‘You need to loose weight’ may become, 'stop eating for pleasuse, eat for sustinence only, tell ********* if he/she doesnt stop offering you food you’ll send them packing. I watched Biggest Looser for a while and most overweight people are so happy eating, there has to be a connection.
The more I think about these recordings I made, the more I think the procrastinating thoughts led to the trouble with me, and listening to non-procrastination was the answer. The suggestions got better and better and it was noticed at work by my supervisor one about my second/third recording, and I had told no one, they noticed! And I have had subliminal recordings before, the jury is still out!
