Strange echo in the recording

Hi guys,

I’m getting an unusual reverb/echo effect when I record my voice. It happens no matter what room I record in. Is there a way I could remove the echo using a plugin etc. Or could it be a bad mic or audio interface?

There’s no reverb on that recording, but computers can add a stereo-reverb effect “audio enhancement” to whatever the computer is playing. Such enhancements can be on by default and there can be more than one layer.
