I have come close to this effect by repeating “sliding time scale / pitch shift” a bunch of times, but it’s difficult to get a clean result.
So basically what i would like to suggest / see is that you can select audio and have it gradually slow down to -100% (halt), like when you turn the power off on a turntable (record player), like in some DJ apps.
There’s an app for that … https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/turntable-warping-v3/24650/1
or use time-track … https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/time_tracks.html
Thanks!
I’ll check it out and report back.
I tried the time track, which works very well, but it can not go down to 0%, the minimum is 10%.
But the maximum speed is 1000%, so you can first ‘change speed’ to -90% (which is 10% of the normal speed) and then make the time track go from 1000 to 10%, ending in 1% of the original speed, which is quite close to full stop.
Would be nice though if the time track speed could go down further, like to 1% in stead of 10%.
How i did it, you still end up with 20kHz slowed down to 200Hz, but 20Hz would sound like a true full stop.
Is it possible to change the 10% to a lower value somehow?
I haven’t tried the other thing you linked yet.
What i read seems like it’s not working too well.
Can apply a time-track slow-down repeatedly (via Mix & render) to go below 10% …
