hello, first time poster. i have quite a few recordings lately that have what sounds like a mouse click that occurs during recording my flute. obviously im not making them, as i have both hands on my flute the whole time. click removal doesnt help, as theyre not “clicks” as is apparently defined by that tool’s algorithm. noise gate reduces the quality, and so does every other tool. dont get me wrong, i am open to tool setting suggestions i might not know about, im just at a loss currently as to how to fix this. i could really use some help with this, as im releasing an album soon and i dont want a bunch of mouse-click sounds on my recordings. the recording is an example of the clicking sound, near the end.
The click sounds/looks like a noise in the room, rather than an electronic artifact:
it has a reverb-tail and is different on the two channels.
(Ticking clock ?, A clicking human joint ?, creaking chair/floorboard ?, clanking jewellery ?).
Can be removed with spectral editing …
i am absolutely sure its none of those things. my chair doesnt make that sound, and the room was completely silent when recording this. i have no idea what it is. the only thing it sounds like to me is a sweep and click of a mouse - it doesnt sound like literaally anything else to me.
that spectral editing - how do you apply this in this situation without losing sound quality? the article you linked to me has a big disclaimer at the top (outlined and emboldened) saying that the instructions are only for a certain application and no other application is ideal, so im curious as to how i can use this editing technique without quality loss
nevermind my last comment; i tinkered around with it and i figured it out! i gotta say, holy s–t, thats better! and it was hella fun figuring it out too tysm, kind sir. attached is the same audio as before, after spectral editing
