Here is some audacity 4 beta feedback from a long time audacity user
Okay first of all, I always install audacity in english but audacity 4 automatically launched in german without asking me.
It would be nice to have that dropdown back on the installer, you can make it automatically select the system language if you want but please communicate what language audacity is going to launch in to the end user!
Also, the word “Master” got translated with “Meister” which means a person which is really good at something, but not used for the actual master volume. Germans will be confused.
The new logo’s colors are an isssue!
I know it needs to fid the branding of musehub or whatever but I’d argue that Audacity itself is a stronger, more well-known and regognizable brand - that now got its most known recognition factor taken away. The logo went from audacity to generic audio editor. That’s bad!
I saw audacity 3 showing me a modernized version of the older audacity logo in the promo image:
I think THAT re-design would be great: if you wanna redesign it at all - at least keep it recognizable like that!
Anyway, these are just the things I noticed after starting audacity 4. I haven’t even started using it, so I’ll get to that! Thanks for reading!
