Software CD does not work in my portable CD drive

Hi everyone:
The Software CD is smaller than regular CD-Roms that go into my external CD drive (my Mac does not have a built-in one). The drive didn’t “grab” the little Software CD and of course it didn’t recognize it, so it’s lodged in there with no way out. Please advise.

The CD was supplied by a hardware manufacturer. And, usually you get an older version that’s outdated by the time you get it.

You can download Audacity here. (You can download without joining Muse Hub.)

Usually there is a little hole in the front where you can insert a straightened paper-clip and that will push it out.

These “miniature” CDs don’t work in any drive, where the CD is “swallowed” by the drive (like the drives supplied by Apple, either built-in or external). They work only in drives where you can place the CD on a tray.

If you are lucky, you can concinve the drive to spit it out again (see below) - if not, …

Restart the Mac while keeping the left mouse button pressed during the restart process. The CD drive will make some noise and (hopefully) eject the CD.
