I would normally be trying the solutions you have already tried. Are you doing all production on the internal drives?

You’re on Windows. Have you ever done a Clean Shutdown? When Windows Shuts Down or Restarts, it doesn’t clean everything out. It leaves bits and pieces and settings behind. This can cause problems.

I need to look up the process.

As I posted up the thread, I’m bringing a new machine on line and I’m doing it with Audacity 3.6.2. Audacity 3.7.x can present some very serious instabilities.

Thanks dear Koz, also for the hint with the clean shutdown, which I actually did not know so far. Maybe I will also go back to an older audacity version in the near future in case I experience more problems. So far I can deal with the bugs and I’m only a hobby producer with no real studio, so it’s fine for me to have some little issues.
