Hi, I’m a newbie here. Excited to start using audacity to create audio books. I have set up my mic, audio interface, gone through the intro video and set up all the settings as advised. If have gone into my computer settings and the mic is enabled and is registering when I test it. However, I am not getting any indication that audacity is receiving a signal from the mic. The levels are uneffected - I’ve set them at 100% as advised. Really appreciating any thoughts?
Missing all the good stuff.
On my computer which is a what using which operating system? I’m using Audacity Version…?
We can’t see over your shoulder from multiple time zones away. It’s good to know those details.
Have you done any voice recording? Is this a laptop? Can you record using the laptop built-in microphone?
I know the microphone makers like you to believe you can buy their microphone, record audiobooks, become successful, and retire to a cottage on the California coast, but it may be more complicated than that.
I used to say a cottage on Côte d’Azur, but I kept forgetting how to spell Côte d’Azur.

That’s the reason I say south of France…
