I recently purchased an Audio Technica AT-LP120 USB Turntable. I have a Macbook Pro Retina 13 inch (2015 - version 10.11.1) connected to a Mackie Onyx Blackjack 2x2 USB Recording Interface, which hooks up to a pair of Genelec 8020a Monitors. I’m sure you are not surprised to hear that I would like to know how to start playing my records through all of this using Audacity 2.1.1 software. It probably is very simple, but the instructions that came with the turntable are for a previous version of audacity, so not much help. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
I apologize if I was being to vague. I would like to know how to record and save tracks from my records, but the main reason I have downloaded Audacity is to be able to simply listen to my records. If I could be told how to be able to just listen to my records through Audacity that would be really appreciated. Thanks
If you want to listen to the records without recording, assuming the turntable is connected to a USB port on the computer, open Device Toolbar and set the recording device to the USB turntable and playback device to the Onyx. Turn on Transport > Software Playthrough AND click in the Audacity recording meter. The monitoring step isn’t needed if you are recording.
