Set and save multiple selections

Hello,

I’m testing Audacity, and if possible I’d like to know if there is a way to make multiple selections on an audio track and save them as a new single file.

Thank you in advance.

It’s actually easier to drag-select and manually delete (DELETE key) the audio you don’t want, then File > Export the remaining audio.

If you want to see the areas for the multiple selections simultaneously you could label the parts you don’t want, ensure the label track is selected (double-click in it) then choose Edit > Labeled Audio > Delete. A benefit of labelling is that you can adjust the labels at any time.

Or label the parts you do want, then Edit > Labeled Audio > Copy, Tracks > Add New > Stereo Track, and Edit > Paste. The white space between the pasted sections will be exported, except for the white space before the first audio section. If you don’t want the silence between sections, use Effect > Truncate Silence… before export.

Should not Labeled Audio have a Split New command?

I don’t know a practical this drag-select solution will be: total duration of my audio track is 7 hours and I need to export 10/20 selection each one of few seconds.

I’m going to make some test.
