Hi, I need to automatically search for impulsive noises lasting a fraction of a second inside an audio file lasting several hours.
Is there any Audacity function suitable for the purpose ?
The sounds you’re searching for may be more obvious on spectrogram view than waveform view.

In Waveform/Spectrogram, is it not possible to highlight only sound events of a specific duration ?
Audacity can automatically label all audio above a user-defined threshold of loudness (not duration)

There is an old experimental pattern-matching plugin,
(if you have an example of the sound you’re searching for) …
[I’ve not tried it in Audcaity3 though].
