Reverb on imported tracks.

When importing or drag-dropping a finished track into Audacity, it adds enormous amounts of reverb! Tried muting all effects but it appears the effects are added and embedded in the track whilst importing. Any ideas? Johnny

I think we need some details. There’s something you’re not telling us… Audacity doesn’t automatically add effects…

Are you simply opening an existing file that’s on your hard drive and clicking “Play”?

No, they are backing tracks recorded in WAV format. If I either drag and drop or import the file it plays back with loads of reberb added. Wierd!
