Reverb/Echo when recording streaming audio with Blackhole

I recorded some music and audiobooks from a streaming service on the web on my MacBook M1 Pro with Ventura OS using Audacity 3.4.2 and Blackhole. I get an awful reverb whether I record in mono or stereo. I tried playing back in audacity and exporting to mp3 and listening through headphones and the reverb is in the recorded file. What am I doing wrong? Under audio setup for recording device, I selected BlackHole 2ch, same setting under input sound. Under transport options I set it to Enable audible input monitoring. Any help I’d appreciate. Thanks.

Disable that!

You are listening to what you’re recording and recording what you’re listening to, creating an internal feedback loop.
